ABSTRACT
Progress in equipment and software technology in nuclear medicine has contributed substantially to cardiac imaging. The most notable consequences of this progress are improvement in image quality and reduction in acquisition time and radiation dose. Introduction of new pharmaceuticals in parallel with the progress in equipment technology has enabled imaging of important molecular processes. This review summarizes the recent progress in equipment, software, and radiopharmaceuticals utilised in nuclear cardiac imaging and their contribution to diagnosis of cardiac disease.
